Chopwell Medical Practice

Due to adverse weather conditions affecting staff and patients travelling safely, routine appointments are being rearranged.  We are in the process of contacting patients.  Please note the surgery car park is closed as it is deemed unsafe.

The surgery is open but there may be delays in patients being seen due to a shortage of staff. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The surgery will be closing half an hour earlier today at 12.30pm due to staff training across Gateshead. If you need urgent medical advice between 12pm today (Thursday the 16th of November 2017) and 8am tomorrow morning (Friday the 17th of November 2017), please ring NHS 111, and after 8am until 9am please ring 03301239532.

The surgery will be closing early on Wednesday the 20th of September 2017 at 12.30pm due to staff training across the Gateshead area.

If you need urgent medical advice between 12.30pm on Wednesday afternoon and 8am on Thursday the 21st of September 2017 please ring NHS 111 and after 8am please ring 03301239532.

If you have a serious medical emergency please contact the emergency services by ringing 999 or 112.

We are pleased to inform you that the winter flu vaccinations are available at the surgery.

Help protect yourself and your loved ones from flu.

The Department of Health recommends vaccination for ‘at risk’ groups. Please make an appointment if you fall into the following categories:

• Adults over 65
• Those aged 6 months – 65 years in clinical risk groups – e.g. patients with long term (chronic) or underlying conditions
• Pregnant women
• All 2, 3 year olds
• Those in long-stay residential care homes.
• Carers

Some children of primary school age will also be offered a flu vaccination at school.

Flu clinics will be held at the surgery daily Monday to Friday.

Unfortunately we are currently unable to offer a holiday immunisation service due to a national shortage in vaccines. We are advising our patients to contact local travel clinics who may still have some vaccines in stock. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
